Confirmation

All 7th & 8th grade students of Nativity Parish are considered candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This two year process is to prepare them to live as fully initiated members of the Catholic Church.

The sacrament of Confirmation completes Baptism. Those receiving this sacrament, freely choose to renew God’s grace they received in Baptism. In Confirmation, the Holy Spirit descends upon all those who receive it. Through the Holy Spirit, this sacrament strengthens Christians and unites them more perfectly with the Church. The souls of the confirmed are marked with a permanent seal of the Holy Spirit, acknowledging them as Christians forever. Confirmed Christians who choose to live as God’s children now have the strength to spread and defend the faith in word and through actions. They are witnesses of God’s love and are full members of the Catholic Church.
 
Our youth begin preparation for this sacrament in the fall of their 7th grade year with Confirmation taking place in the spring of their 8 ^th grade year.
