The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process used by Catholic parishes to welcome and prepare adults who are interested in becoming Catholic or exploring whether the Catholic faith is for them. It is a journey of faith in community, during which information about the Catholic faith is shared and the drawing of one’s heart closer to God are joined to help the person live a fuller Christian life. We meet weekly on Sunday mornings beginning in mid-September and ending in April. If the participant chooses to complete the process and is ready, they generally join the Church and receive their Sacraments at the celebration of the Easter Vigil, on Holy Saturday evening.
Call or e-mail Mary Lambrechts, RCIA Director, at 913.491.5017, ext. 1722, for more information or questions. To register, please complete the online registration (see link below). We will plan to have an individual meeting with everyone who contacts us before classes begin, an additional opportunity for you to have any questions answered about RCIA.
