Registration and Deadlines
An announcement is usually placed in the church bulletin and school newsletter in February. There are no tryouts for track. A CYO Parent Release Form must be completed and submitted with the fee at the time of the first practice.

Participation
Track is open to all Nativity parishioners in 3rd through 8th   grade.  (It is more recreational for 3rd and 4th graders, as they do not get formal event times at meets or event awards.  They do get participation ribbons.)

Fee
The Athletic Committee determines participation fees each year, which can vary due to new equipment and facility expenses, CYO fees, etc.  The track fee for 2007 is $60 per participant.

Required Uniforms and Equipment
Players wear t-shirts provided by Nativity and the “required” Nativity school uniform shorts.  Players who do not attend Nativity school can purchase the required shorts at Embroid Me (8622 W. 133rd St. 913-897-9600).  Other than that, players need running shoes.  
 
Practice
Practice is held twice a week beginning in March. 

Meets
Meets are held four weekends in a row beginning in early April.  All runners participate in the first three meets, and only the 5th through 8th graders participate in the final meet, which is the city championships.  The schedule can be found on the CYO web site.

Coaching
Parent volunteers are needed and each must be VIRTUS-trained prior to having any contact with the team.  Several people are needed to help during meets and those with track or running experience are needed for practices. More details on CYO Track are available on the CYO website at www.cyojwa.org
