- Funeral Lunches
This ministry provides hospitality for the family and friends of a parishioner that has recently passed away. A luncheon is provided in the Parish Hall for the immediate family and friends after the funeral. There is no training necessary. The commitment for this ministry is to be available to prepare a salad or a dessert, help to serve or clean up after the luncheon. If you are interested in helping provide hospitality to parishioner’s family members that have recently lost a loved one please email Laura Crandall at
bcrandall@kc.rr.com
- Hospital/Homebound Visitation
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Body of Christ to Catholic patients and residents in the ten different facilities (hospitals, nursing and retirement homes, etc.) located within the Parish boundaries. Trained Ministers of Care also bring Holy Communion to Catholic parishioners that are unable to get out of their homes. This is a growing ministry and we are always looking for more help. The time commitment varies from 1 – 2 hours per month. Training is provided for all interested adult parishioners. Please email Tom Garbach at
tom@kcnativity.org, or call him at 338.4367.
- Prayer Chain
Being part of this ministry you are asked to pray for parishioners, their families and friends in time of illness or any other crisis that may occur. You then pass the prayer request to another assigned person. No meetings are held, just taking time to pray and accepting the responsibility of calling members of the Prayer Chain. There’s always room for one more to join this group! If you are interested in being a member of the Prayer Chain please Sharon Khoury at
sharon.khoury@infocare200.com
- Respite
This ministry gives a welcomed period of rest to caregivers that are usually taking care of someone they love (family member) on a fulltime basis. The time commitment may be for several hours periodically visiting with a parishioner that is homebound because of some type of illness. Training will be provided as appropriate. If you would like additional information about this very rewarding ministry please email Pat Scheibel at
rscheibel@kc.rr.com or call her at 897-6589.
